Romancing the 18th Century

Romancing the 18th Century : Rococo to Stage

For over 200 years, the 18th century has been immortalised by artists, fashion designers and the stage, often portraying a romanticised fantasy of the era. From pastoral fantasies to the rise of pantomime, idyllic imagery of this time period has been used as a form of escapism from modernity, from the 18th century itself until the present day.

The Museum of Fashion Malvern gives thanks to Malvern Theatre Players for making this display possible through their costume loans and support.

Free to the public now until October
